About KBfit

Last updated: 17 October 2026

KBfit is a small, free web utility built for one job: getting a photo or a signature under the file-size and pixel limits that Indian exam and ID application forms enforce. It exists because those limits are strict, inconsistently documented, and most online compressors either upload your photo to a server or ignore the pixel requirements entirely.

What it does

How it works

Compression runs entirely in your browser using the HTML canvas API. The page reads the file you select, draws it to a canvas at the chosen dimensions, and re-encodes it while adjusting quality until it fits the target. No image is sent to a server, because there is no server endpoint to send it to — the site is a set of static files.

You can verify that yourself: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network panel while compressing, or load the page once, switch to airplane mode, and compress a photo.

What KBfit does not do

Who it is for

Applicants filling exam and recruitment forms who need a correctly sized photo or signature quickly, on a phone or a laptop, without creating an account or handing their photograph to a third party.
