Signature too heavy? Get it to 10–20KB without losing the stroke.
Signatures compress badly — thin strokes blur first. This page crops to the portal's exact box and stops as soon as the file fits the band.
What an accepted signature looks like
A signature upload fails for reasons that have nothing to do with KB. Portals (and the humans who review the scan) check the box, the ink, and the format at the same time.

How to sign so compression doesn't ruin it
1. Black pen, white paperNo ruled paper, no coloured ink. A clean background compresses far better than a grey phone-photo of a notebook.
2. Fill the boxSign large enough that the strokes occupy most of the frame. A tiny signature in a big photo loses the most detail when scaled down.
3. Nobody's capsRunning hand, not block capitals — SSC and IBPS both reject all-caps signatures.
4. Shoot straight downFlat, even light, no shadow across the paper. Perspective correction costs you pixels.
Why signatures get rejected
FAQ
Can I sign on paper and photograph it?
Yes — that is the normal workflow. Photograph flat in daylight, crop to the box, then compress here. Avoid scanning apps that add borders.
Should the signature be in running hand or capitals?
Running hand. Block capitals are treated as a mismatch by SSC and IBPS verification.
What if my form asks for a signature up to 50KB?
Then use the 50KB page and set the range 20–50; this page targets the tighter 10–20KB band.
Is the image uploaded to a server?
No. The crop and compression happen in your browser's canvas; no image leaves the device.
